As you change the distance between the barrels the hinge angle changes - This feature makes it so you'll have a level reticle no matter the interpapillary adjustment distance.

It's like a zero stop for your binoculars. It also prevents any unauthorized adjustments, and keeps the correlation between the bridge angle and the Shot-Call reticle in sync. Simply attach it via the front or rear bridge 1/4-20 threads.
